The NLC undertakes early dry season savanna fire programs across four areas in the NT. To assist with the delivery of these programs, the NLC seeks to engage multiple and suitably qualified and experienced helicopter operators to deliver the aerial component of the program. Unlike in previous instances, NLC wishes to contract these service providers for a period of 36 months (life of contract). However, in order to effectively manage each contract across the below regions, each service provider will be issued an initial 12-month contract and based on successful annual performance assessments additional 12 month extensions will be provided not to exceed a maximum of 36 months.

The NLC receives funding from ILSC through contractual arrangements to deliver the Savanna Fire Management Program across Garawa, Wagiman, Wardaman and Judbarra areas.

Aerial operations undertaken as part of the SFM Program include:

• Provide aerial services for Traditional Owner site inspections.
• Drop in and pick up of personnel undertaking ground burning activities.
• Aerial incendiary dropping.
• Fire and other environmental surveys.
• Tracking and reporting of all flight lines.
