Council (the Principal) is seeking Quotations from appropriately qualified and experienced Contractors to construct a new water main section on Banksia Street in Hill Top, NSW.

Project goals

Council (the Principal) is seeking Quotations from appropriately qualified and experienced Contractors to construct a new water main section to provide a loop between two (2) dead ends at Banksia Street in Hill Top, NSW which will improve flow and redundancy in case of outages.

A more detailed brief of the extent of services required by Council is set out in Volume 1 - Specification which is included as part of the Request for Quotation documentation.

In accordance with Council Policy and Guidelines, Council invites quotations in accordance with this Invitation and the following accompanying documents:

• Volume 1a – Appendices A - D
• Volume 2 - Response Schedules
• Volume 3 - Conditions of Contract, and
• Any published Addenda

Scope:

Project Description

• The Contractor is to install the new pipe as shown in the Figure 1 reconnecting to the ends of the exiting mains. The construction method may be open-trenching or horizontal directional drilling. Works shall only commence after Council is granted the Crown Land Licence.
• Install a new polyethylene PE100 PN16 DN125 pipe on the alignment as shown in the diagrams of Appendix A and Appendix B.
• Install polyethylene PE100 PN16 DN125 pipe and reconnect the new main to the existing pipework at the two (2) tie-in points at the ends of the alignment.
• Stop valves (100mm), hydrants (100mm), and re-connections are to be installed at the locations as shown in the project scope diagrams of Appendix A. Hydrants are to be spaced out at a separation distance of 60m and off-set into the grassed verge or foot path.
• Reinstate the surface and subgrade to match the surrounding materials and levels. This includes roadway, kerb and gutter, driveways, grassed footpath, etc.

3. Mandatory - Public Liability Insurance - minimum $20 million

Insurance against the death or injury to any third party or parties or loss of or damage to any property including loss of use of property whether it is damaged or not whatsoever caused during the course of the contract. The policy shall have a limit of indemnity of not less than the amount indicated for any one occurrence.

4. Mandatory - Workers Compensation Insurance

Workers Compensation/ Personal Accident and Illness Insurance or Personal Income Protection.

Insurance against any death of or injury to persons employed by the Supplier as required by the Workers Compensation Act 1987.

In the event of the Contractor being a Sole Trader or Partnership, the Contractor must provide Council with a copy of either a Personal Accident and Illness Insurance Policy or a Personal Income Protection Policy.

5. Mandatory - Comprehensive Motor Vehicle Insurance

In the case of any motor vehicle used in the performance of any contract, a Comprehensive Motor Vehicle Insurance policy including cover for accidental damage, fire and theft is required. The policy shall be for a sum not less than the full market value of the vehicle/s.

6. Mandatory - Bank Guarantees
