Tender Description

Wollongong City Council wishes to engage a contractor for the remediation and stabilisation works at 1A Winton Place, Fairy Meadow. 

Scope:

The project involves the remediation and protection of the embankment along Cabbage Tree Creek adjacent to 1A Winton Place, Fairy Meadow, following damage caused by severe weather events. The works aim to restore structural integrity, protect existing services, and ensure long-term stability of the creek bank.

The Contract includes, but is not limited to, the following:-

1. Site Preparation and Management

  • Development of management plans: Quality, WHS, Environmental, Erosion & Sediment Control, Traffic & Pedestrian.
  • Site establishment including access setup, temporary services, and facilities.
  • Pre-construction dilapidation survey of affected properties and infrastructure.

2. Earthworks and Structural Remediation

  • Excavation and slope profiling of the eastern bank.
  • Cutting and removal of failed sheet pile wall sections.
  • Installation of geotextile, filter rock, underlayer rock, and armour rock to form a new rock revetment structure. Please note that further erosion has occurred since the design was prepared. Once on site, the Contractor shall confirm the locations and extent of any additional erosion beyond that shown on the drawings and incorporate appropriate measures within the expanded scope of works to address these conditions. All provisional quantities must be verified by a registered surveyor
  • Construction of temporary access ramps and platforms within the creek bed.

3. Water Management

  • Design and implementation of temporary water diversion systems to manage creek flows during construction.
  • Compliance with Fisheries Permit and REF requirements.

4. Monitoring and Protection of Services

  • Vibration and ground movement monitoring near Sydney Water DN525 sewer assets.
  • Coordination with Water Servicing Coordinator for CCTV inspections and asset protection.
  • Surveying and compliance checks throughout construction.

5. Landscaping and Restoration

  • Reinstatement of disturbed areas with topsoil, grass, and native vegetation.
  • Installation of coir logs and planting of tube stock at specified densities.
  • Maintenance of landscaping for 6 months post-construction.

6. Completion and Handover

  • Post-construction dilapidation survey.
  • Final compliance survey and work-as-executed drawings.
  • Submission of Sydney Water certification and project completion package.
