Tamarama + Gaerloch Reserve Fitness Station Repairs

The fitness stations at Tamarama and Gaerloch Reserves on the Bondi to Bronte Coastal Walk were upgraded in 2019 to fulfil council’s aspirations to encourage healthier lifestyles and provide high quality public amenities.

The fitness station at Tamarama was utilised as a site storage location during the refurbishment works at Tamarama Surf Life Saving Club. Alongside complaints from a neighbour about privacy, plans were detailed to swap fitness equipment between Gaerloch and Tamarama Fitness Stations and complete the work as part of the restoration / make good works associated with the Surf Club Refurbishment. This work was not completed, with equipment removed from the station at Tamarama resulting in a loss of amenity along the interconnected fitness stations.

The project aims to restore the amenity and range of fitness activities at Tamarama and Gaerloch Reserve fitness stations, which were affected by the upgrades of the adjacent Tamarama Surf Life Saving Club, and to address privacy concerns raised by a neighbour by swapping the equipment types between the two stations as documented.
