Clarence City Council invites Quotations from suitably qualified Respondents to undertake a Consultancy for the engineering survey, detailed design, drawings, schedule of quantities, construction cost estimate, Safety in Design report, Aboriginal Heritage Permit application and associated information for a retaining wall along Dorans Road, Sandford, Tasmania, 7020.

Clarence City Council (CCC) is proposing to construct a 350m long retaining wall along the high side (west side) of a section of Dorans Road at Sandford. The works are to retain current and future land slip in this area. An existing concrete block retaining wall has already been constructed along a 100m section of Dorans Road, around 150m to the south of the current proposed work area.

Aboriginal Heritage Tasmania (AHT) has advised that there is an Aboriginal heritage site recorded within the proposed works area, including an extensive shell midden with associated artefact scatter known as AH8141. The design plans must meet the objectives of landslip stabilisation whilst at the same time minimising any impacts on site AH8141.
