The lighting upgrade project at Aikenhead Point Access Walkway involves design and construction of a new lighting solution to replace existing corroded offset fixtures with a modern, corrosion-resistant system positioned on the western edge of the walkway and Northwest edges of viewing platform.

The selected contractor will design and install the new infrastructure to meet TasPorts requirements, Environmental Standards for Coastal areas and Australian standards for pedestrian pathways, incorporating energy-efficient LED and smart lighting technology (if possible) and materials suited for harsh coastal conditions. Installation will include site preparation, removal of old infrastructure, electrical works, and safe erection of new fixtures, all designed to enhance nighttime visibility, public safety, and ease of future maintenance.

Aesthetic integration with nearby landmarks such as the Spirit of the Sea statue and steel lookout structure is essential, and minimal environmental impact must be maintained during construction. The contractor must also conduct system testing, commissioning, and provide all relevant documentation, ensuring a robust and low-maintenance lighting solution aligned with Devonport's Living City vision.
