The intent of this procurement activity is to engage a head contractor to address critical safety hazards associated with the use of high-pressure steam in trafficable areas adjacent to the steam plant located in Building 131.

To mitigate these risks, the proposed upgrade includes comprehensive modifications to the steam boiler plantroom, along with structural and civil enhancements. These improvements will relocate high-pressure steam operations to a designated, controlled area, away from high-traffic zones.

The planned modifications are designed to optimise the functionality and efficiency of the plantroom while significantly reducing potential hazards. By repositioning steam operations, the project will enhance operational workflow, improve safety, and contribute to a more sustainable and secure working environment.
