Albany Housing First Support Service

The Department of Communities (Communities) is undertaking an expression of interest (EOI) process to assist with planning for Albany Housing First Support Service (Albany HFSS).

Albany HFSS will provide wrap-around case management support to meet complex needs of people experiencing rough sleeping and linking to accommodation and housing.

The service will:

• Identify – people sleeping rough in their nominated area
• Engage – people into appropriate services
• Support – people to maintain their tenancy and prevent them from cycling back into homelessness.

This EOI is open to ACCOs and non-ACCO CSOs. Communities is committed to increasing opportunities for ACCOs to deliver services to Aboriginal children, families, and communities. As such, this EOI has been developed to encourage ACCOs to respond; and for non-ACCO CSOs to demonstrate a clear ability to deliver a culturally responsive service.

Cultural responsiveness may include:

• Genuine partnerships with ACCOs through a partnership framework, shared agreement and transition of services to ACCO over time.
• Building ACCO capacity in the Albany Local Government Area, through costs/activities/Aboriginal participation associated with capacity building included in the model. 
• Other activities to deliver culturally responsive services.
