Overview

AGL is developing the Barn Hill Wind Farm and Battery Project near Redhill in the Mid North of South Australia. The Project includes a wind farm with a capacity of up to 360 MW and a new transmission connection,

The Project is located approximately 4.5 km to the south-west of the township of Redhill, in the Mid North of South Australia. The wind farm will be located across the hilltops between the Snowtown Wind Farm and the Clements Gap Wind Farm.

On 31 January 2025, the South Australian Minister for Planning granted Development Approval for the Project. The approval is for the wind farm, associated infrastructure and a battery.

A Final Investment Decision is expected to be made in late 2025, with construction commencing in early 2026.

This EOI is for the wind farm and associated infrastructure only.

The project consists of:

Wind turbine generators
Electrical substations
Underground cable and overhead line collector network
275kV transmission line
O&M facilities including workshop areas and warehouse
Access tracks, hardstands, support crane pads and laydown areas
Upgrades to public roads and public infrastructure
Security fencing
Water storage tanks
Fire water tanks
Temporary construction compound
Temporary concrete batching plants

The project will be making a number of workforce and local content commitments. All suppliers/contractors will be expected to contribute to these.
