The Australian Government is inviting the identified organisation via a one-off ad hoc process to apply to deliver services under the Strengthening Families and Communities Partnership from 2025 to 2028.

Under the $250 million dollar A Better, Safer Future for Central Australia plan, $30 million has been allocated for the Strengthening Families and Communities Partnership (the Partnership) to support place-based initiatives in regional and remote Central Australia. This investment under the Partnership will support community led solutions to improve family and community safety in communities across Central Australia in the Northern Territory.

The Partnership contributes towards Target 13 of the National Agreement on Closing the Gap (Closing the Gap):

• Target 13: By 2031, the rate of all forms of family violence and abuse against Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and children is reduced at least by 50%, as progress towards zero.
• This is to achieve Closing the Gap Outcome 13: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Families and Households are safe.

The Strengthening Families and Communities Partnership - Safe and Healthy Homes Skills Development Program grant opportunity directly contributes to the Partnership’s work towards achieving Target 13.
