Rectification Works to the Stepped Channel Outlet of the Clean Water Diversion System
Tender ID: 594137
Tender Details
Tender Description
Kimbriki Environmental Enterprises Pty Ltd operates the Kimbriki Resource Recovery Centre (KRRC), which is located off Mona Vale Road at Ingleside, Sydney.
In 2022 and 2023 the Clean Water Diversion System (CWDS), a network of open channel and piped drains was constructed to divert stormwater around the active KRRC landfill area and safely discharge into the downstream creek. Following the completion of the CWDS in September 2023 the final portion of the western channel, the Stepped Channel Outlet, failed during a significant rainfall event which peaked in the range of a 10% AEP event. The failure was then assessed and a design for the rectification works developed.
Kimbriki is seeking a Contractor to firstly review the proposed design and suggest potential modifications to reduce the cost of the works then secondly construct the proposed stepped channel outfall rectification design provided in Section D Appendix B of this RFT or as modified during the tender/post tender period.
These works include removal of the existing gabion/reno-mattress structure and replacement with a cast-in-situ concrete stepped outfall structure. In-situ soils will be removed down to rock below the new stepped outfall structure and replaced with select fill and various drainage structures. An upstream curved wingwall will be provided along with downstream training walls. The structure has been designed to contain stormwater flows up to the 1% AEP rainfall event without stormwater overtopping.
