Bus Turning Safety Improvements Project - Newcastle Street Intersections

Programmed Facility Management Pty Ltd (PFM) on behalf of the Public Transport Authority (PTA) are seeking Tenders from suitably qualified and experienced contractors to undertake bus turning safety improvements at the Newcastle Street Intersections.

The purpose of this project is to remove the requirement for buses to straddle two lanes and make a left turn safely within the width of the lane provided. In achieving this, the stop lines on both lanes from Beaufort Street and William Street into Newcastle Street will be moved back.

Works will include the construction of a new mast for the relocation of light signals, and the relocation of street light poles. Removal of existing medium strip, road resurfacing and new road markings applied to the amended intersections.
