Arts and Culture - Art Equipment Grants (AEG)

⁠⁠⁠The Arts Equipment grant category support arts organisations to purchase new equipment that is used for the production, presentation, promotion and sale of art by NT artists at arts facilities in the NT.

Prioritises “Remote’ and ‘Very Remote’ arts organisations and Aboriginal owned art centres.

Examples:

• Arts production equipment (e.g. kilns, printing presses, amplifiers) for creating and developing work by NT artists
• Arts presentation equipment (e.g. sound systems, gallery fittings) for displaying NT artists work
• Furniture and tools for storage, display or documentation (e.g. drawer, display units, stretchers)

Funding available

Up to $10,000 per application, per financial year, available to organisations

Key information

• Open until 31 May 2026 or until budget expended
• Assessed by the Department
• Notification within 20 working days of submission
• Activity must start after execution of the funding agreement
• Case study report due 3 months after completion of the approved activity

Before you apply

• Read the Arts Grants Program Guidelines to understand the objectives and requirements
• Speak with an Arts Development Officer to confirm your eligibility and that your activity suits the grant category
• Make sure you have no outstanding acquittals or compliance issues with the NT Government
• Clearly define your activity, including what it is, who is involved, and how and when it will be delivered
• Prepare a realistic, balanced budget that shows value for money and includes quotes for any expenses over $1,000
• Gather your support material, including CVs or bios, examples of work, and confirmation of involvement from collaborators
• Obtain any required permissions, including Working with Children clearances and Aboriginal cultural permissions if relevant
• If using an Administering Body, ensure they endorse your application before you submit it
• Submit your application by the deadline, as late applications won’t be accepted
