Tender Description
The Sorghum Shed is a bulk storage facility constructed in 1980 located within Port lands, 200m from the Broome wharf. The shed is a steel portal framed structure approximately 3500m2 in size with steel girts, purlins and metal cladding and features an underground tunnel containing below-ground conveyor systems and an external overhead conveyor linking the elevator loading tower to the tripper conveyor within the shed. The elevated loading tower and external overhead conveyor were demolished in November 2024 to assist with the construction of the KMSB floating wharf project.
The Kimberley Ports Authority is seeking a suitable experienced contractor to demolish the Sorghum Shed as outlined in the Principals Project Requirement document.
Site Visit
A site visit will be held at 280 Port Drive, Broome on 18 September 2025 9:30 AM.
The Principal will hold a mandatory general information and pre-proposal “briefing session” for Respondents at KPA Office on the 18 September 2025.
The likely agenda is as follows:
9:00 – 12:00 – Briefing and Sorghum Shed Inspection
12:00 – 13:00 – Lunch (provided by the Principal)
13:00 – 14:00 – Clarifications and questions
Due to the risk of flight cancellations respondents are encouraged to ensure that they have arrived in Broome on the evening of 17 September 2025.
Attendance at the briefing is a pre-requisite to submission and consideration of a bid.
