Brisbane Catholic Education (BCE), the Customer, manages a large and diverse supplier base across South-East Queensland. Effective supplier management is critical to operational efficiency, cost control, compliance, and delivering value to our Customers. Within the broader supplier management process, this initiative is specifically focused on improving supplier onboarding. A robust supplier onboarding solution is foundational to building strong, reliable, and compliant supplier relationships.

Currently at BCE, the onboarding process is manual, fragmented, and lacks consistent ownership. This results in inefficiencies, data inaccuracies, and compliance risks. Challenges such as limited supplier oversight, inconsistent training across schools, missing master data, and poor integration with existing systems contribute to extended onboarding times, difficulty verifying credentials, and a suboptimal supplier experience. These issues collectively hinder procurement performance and increase organisational risk.

To address this, BCE seeks to adopt an outcomes-based procurement model focused on achieving a scalable, dependable, and compliant supplier verification and onboarding capability. The solution will ensure all suppliers are consistently vetted, documented, and approved. The solution must integrate effectively with existing procurement systems, enhance data integrity, and support compliance requirements. In doing so, this will clarify roles and responsibilities, strengthen risk controls, and improve the overall onboarding experience.
