Tender ID: 593344
Tender Details
Tender Description
Livingstone Shire Council invites suitably qualified and experienced consultants to submit a tender for the provision of services to deliver planning, business case development and preliminary design documentation for critical coastal protection infrastructure on Great Keppel Island.
This project responds to increasing concerns around coastal erosion and storm surge events that pose a threat to the long-term viability of island assets. The proposed revetment wall is considered essential enabling infrastructure to support eco-tourism investment, protect cultural values, and maintain the island’s role as a key destination in Queensland’s Southern Great Barrier Reef.
Council is seeking a Principal Consultant to lead a multidisciplinary team in delivering the project across two separable portions:
• Separable Portion A – Revetment Wall: Includes all planning, analysis, design, and business case activities for a new engineered revetment wall from Putney Beach to Fisherman’s Beach.
• Separable Portion B – Shoreline Erosion Management Plan (SEMP): Builds on Portion A to develop a long-term, integrated erosion adaptation strategy for both beaches, aligned with Queensland Government guidelines and the State Planning Policy.
This is a strategic opportunity to contribute to the resilience and sustainability of one of Queensland’s iconic coastal environments.
