Darwin - Expression of Interest - Future Use of the State Square Building

⁠⁠⁠The Northern Territory Government is seeking Expressions of Interest from interested (commercial, community or not-for-profit) enterprises to occupy and operate from the new State Square Building in the Darwin Central Business District. Construction of the new State Square Building will be completed in mid-2026.

Located in State Square Precinct in the heart of Darwin’s civic and cultural precinct, the State Square Building is within proximity to the CBD, Waterfront, and key government, commercial, cultural and tourism infrastructure.

The Northern Territory Government seeks potential proponents that can demonstrate a clear vision for activating the space in a way that supports local jobs, enhances community engagement, and strengthens social, cultural or economic outcomes across the Territory.

Proponents are encouraged to consider a wide range of potential uses and delivery models, provided they align with the strategic intent of the site and demonstrate a clear value proposition for the Northern Territory. Interested parties are encouraged to consider a wide range of potential uses.
