Overview
The works form part of the Sydney Metro City & Southwest - Sydenham to Bankstown (SWM4) project, a major infrastructure upgrade involving the conversion of the existing Bankstown Line to a new metro service. This transformation will integrate fully segregated metro operations between Sydenham and Bankstown, improving reliability, capacity, and accessibility across Sydney's rail network.
The program of works involves upgrades to multiple station precincts and surrounding areas, as well as improvements to supporting infrastructure. The project is being delivered in a live rail and urban environment, requiring careful planning, staging, and coordination to minimise disruption to rail services, road networks, and local communities.
Construction is being carried out under strict Sydney Metro, Transport for NSW (TfNSW), and Australian Standards requirements, with specific focus on safety, quality, and environmental compliance. The delivery involves coordination with multiple cholders including local councils, utility providers, and other contractors operating in the same corridor.
Works are delivered under varying operational conditions -- standard daytime working hours, night shifts, and rail possessions -- to meet program milestones while accommodating operational constraints and regulatory requirements.
The project also seeks to maximise participation from local and regional businesses, as well as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander enterprises, aligning with government and client objectives for local industry engagement.
