Request for Tender for Architectural Projections on the Sydney Opera House

Premier's Department is undertaking an open tender to establish a panel of suppliers for architectural projections on the Sydney Opera House (SOH).

Project goals

The goal of this RFT is to appoint a panel of suppliers to:

• Deliver high-quality architectural projections on the SOH for significant or commemorative events, complying with NSW Government guidelines.

• Utilise high-powered digital projectors to illuminate the SOH accurately, in sensitive and challenging environments.

• Supply creative and appropriate design services for projections, ranging from simple colour washes to detailed custom animations; relevant to the event being commemorated or celebrated.

• Manage and execute projections on the SOH efficiently within strict timeframes, including full set up and pack down of equipment.

• Deliver annual/planned projections on the SOH, and unplanned projections as required by the NSW Government, at agreed rates.

Scope

Premier's Department (PD) is seeking to establish a panel of suitably qualified and experienced suppliers to deliver high quality architectural projections onto the SOH shells.

Suppliers on the panel will be engaged on a project-by-project basis to provide:

• End-to-end projection services, including supply, installation, alignment, operation, and removal of equipment.

• Architectural mapping and projection specifically tailored to the SOH shells.

• Creative content development, ranging from simple static images to complex animated projections.

• Rapid response capability, with notice periods ranging from several months to as little as eight (8) hours.

• Projections from one of two locations — the Overseas Passenger Terminal (OPT) or, if unavailable, Dawes Point Park beneath the Sydney Harbour Bridge (SHB).

Suppliers will be required to provide two rate cards covering key pricing variables including notice periods, creative complexity, projection duration, and location.

This panel will operate under a Head Agreement for an initial term of three (3) years, with the option to extend for a further three (3) years. Appointment to the panel does not guarantee work.
