Tender Description

Wayfinding services for Strawberry Hill at Barmup, in present-day Albany.

The consultant is expected to:

- Undertake an on-site assessment;

- Liaise with the National Trust and its consultants to reach a full understanding of design work to date, the Interpretation Strategy, and the applicable brand, logo, and colour palette;

- Develop a wayfinding strategy and concept design indicating the location of wayfinding signs, and their design and content;

- Provide a cost estimate for the implementation of the strategy;

- Following approval of the strategy and acceptance of the cost estimate, fully document all signs for fabrication and installation;

- Seek all approvals as required;

- Oversee the tender process in compliance with the Trust’s procurement processes, and secure a contractor to fabricate and install the signs; and

- Oversee installation of all signs.

Fabrication and installation of signs is by others, with an allocated budget as described in section 8.0 of this document.

Wayfinding signage is separate from interpretive signage, but in some cases (notably the Welcome Point) they may share a space.

Consideration has to be given to how all the signage works together. Prior to finalising the design of the wayfinding signage, the Trust will facilitate discussions between the wayfinding consultant and the interpretive design consultant to ensure that this objective is achieved.
