Improving the health and wellbeing of PALM Scheme Workers in Bundaberg
Tender ID: 592770
Tender Details
Tender Description
There are 31 Primary Health Networks (PHN) throughout Australia which are independent not-for profit commissioning organisations funded by the Commonwealth Department of Health to improve the health outcomes of the region. Country to Coast Queensland (CCQ) delivers the PHN program within the Central Queensland, Wide Bay, Sunshine Coast region, guided by its vision to 'support our region to live their healthiest lives'
The Australian Government's Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) Scheme brings workers from nine Pacific Island countries and Timor-Leste to Bundaberg, providing vital contribution to the local economy. These temporary visa holders frequently face structural, legal, social, economic, and health barriers, limiting their ability to protect their wellbeing.
CCQ has secured $200,000 through the PHN Multicultural Access Program (MAP) for 2025-26 to improve health and wellbeing for culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities and has dedicated the funding to focus on the health and wellbeing of PALM scheme workers in Bundaberg.
CCQ invites proposals from qualified providers to:
- Identify and address health and wellbeing needs of PALM Scheme workers
- Improve access to primary healthcare for PALM Scheme workers
- Strengthen cross-sector collaboration and service integration
- Enhance the disaster and climate resilience of PALM Scheme workers to protect health
- Providers should have strong capability in project delivery, co-design with CALD groups, and leading multi-sector health initiatives.
