Design Services for Additional Resource Recovery at Kimbriki

Kimbriki Environmental Enterprises (KEE) invites suitably qualified contractors to provide quotations for support services to assist in the design and development of a staged Landfill Resource Recovery Facility (LRRF) at the Kimbriki Resource Recovery Centre located at Ingleside in Sydney.

The Kimbriki Resource Recovery Centre (KRRC) is a 35-hectare resource recovery precinct that receives approximately 400,000 visits per year bringing 270,000 tonnes of a wide range of source separated and mixed wastes and recycling approximately 80% of these. The KRRC also houses a waste transfer station and landfill which currently receives approximately 54,000 tonnes of non-putrescible mixed waste annually and currently landfills approximately 50,000 tonnes. These are received from small businesses, residential self-haul and Council kerb-side hard waste collections.

KEE wants support to commence developing a concept design and costed business case to conduct a staged approach to increase resource recovery from the non-putrescible mixed waste using a combination of processes involving mobile plant, multiple drop off areas and a single, centralised processing facility (the Landfill Resource Recovery Facility or LRRF). Ultimately the LRRF would be able to accept and process all of the incoming mixed wastes although several preliminary stages are anticipated to be implemented first to allow for proof of concept and to stage out capital expenditure.

It should be noted this RFQ is only to develop the concept design and business case, not commence detailed design, procurement or construction works.
