Expressions of Interest sought for water in the Powlett River

Southern Rural Water is calling for expressions of interest in securing winterfill surface water entitlement in the Powlett River catchment.

The total allocation available is 250 megalitres. Winterfill water can only be accessed from 1 July to 31 October in any year.

To be eligible, you must be able to access the water from your land or land you have permission to use.

Sustainable Diversion Limits assessment will determine availability of water at proposed harvesting locations within the catchment. Please note that water is not available in all sub-catchments. Southern Rural Water will assess your eligibility to participate including the need to be landholders or otherwise have access to land in the Powlett River catchment and direct access to the waterway for pumping purposes.

Completed Expressions of Interest forms must be submitted by Tuesday, 16 September 2025.
