Lead Designer required for the permanent reconstruction of the Gungas Road corridor includes replacement of the two creek crossings and restoration of adjacent flood-damaged pavement over approximately 900 m.

The Services required include:

a) Development of concept, detailed and final design for all elements based on the Principal’s Strategic Design;

b) Preparation of Issued for Construction (IFC) drawings and technical specifications;

c) Completion of geotechnical and survey investigations necessary to support and finalise the design;

d) Coordination of all relevant design disciplines and subconsultants;

e) Undertaking stakeholder engagement during the design phase in accordance with Section 22;

f) Conducting a Safe Design Review and preparing a Safe Design Review Report in accordance with Section 18;

g) Identifying construction risks and developing mitigation strategies including constructability and staging constraints;

h) Attendance at design review and coordination meetings;

i) Maintaining a Services Delivery Plan in accordance with Section 8;

j) Developing technical specifications incorporating relevant inspection, witness and hold points;

k) Ensuring compliance with Council policies, Northern Rivers Development and Design Standards, Australian Standards and TfNSW specifications unless otherwise agreed in writing with the Principal; and

l) Incorporating resilient infrastructure principles for bridges, causeways, culverts and pavements designed to withstand a 5% AEP flood event with minimal post-event restoration.

The Consultant is required to:

m) Complete all work necessary to produce design packages at each stage of development;

n) Identify risks likely to occur during construction and recommend mitigation actions;

o) Verify that the RFT documents are internally consistent and compliant with this Agreement; and

p) Deliver finalised technical documentation, drawings, risk registers and cost estimates at the agreed milestones.
