The Whitsunday Regional Council (Principal) requires a suitably qualified, experienced and resourced builder (Contractor) to carry out the refurbishment of the Dingo Beach swimming enclosure (the Works). The swimming enclosure is located on the Dingo Beach Foreshore (Site), approximately 40 kilometres north of Proserpine and 45 kilometres from Airlie Beach.

The swimming enclosure was damaged in January 2024 by Cyclone Kirrily with several poles and rails now missing. Throughout 2024 the Principal conducted community consultation to determine whether to replace or remove the structure with Council resolving in May 2025 to proceed with the refurbishment of the structure.

Due to the condition of the remaining timber piles and rails it has been determined that 22 of the 33 existing piles are to be replaced with all timber rails, mesh and fixings to also be replaced.

The Principal requires the Works to be completed prior to October 2026 to avoid turtle nesting season and to negate the need for a temporary stinger enclosure to be installed for summer 2026/27.

A non-mandatory Tender Briefing will be held on site at Dingo Beach Foreshore, Dingo Beach Qld 4800 at 1.30pm for the low tide on the 20th August 2025. Council recommends you wear sun protection.
