Tender Details
Tender Description
The Medicare Urgent Care Clinic (Medicare UCC) Program was first funded by the Australian Government in the October 2022-23 Budget. As part of the 2023-24 May Budget, the Australian Government announced the establishment of 58 Medicare UCCs across Australia. As part of the 2024-25 Budget, an additional 29 Medicare UCCs were funded, bringing the total number to 87.
Medicare UCCs are intended to improve access to urgent care in a non-hospital setting, reduce pressure on Emergency Department (ED) presentations by providing patients with access to urgent care services at no cost, while supporting integration with the local health system and complementing general practice.
This RFT seeks to commission a service provider to establish and operate a Whyalla Medicare UCC.
The establishment timeline will see the successful applicant work towards commencing service delivery by mid-December 2025.
The purpose of this Request for Tender (RFT) is to enable prospective providers to detail their approach to establish and operate a Medicare UCC in Whyalla.
Country SA PHN invites tenders from suitably qualified and experienced organisations, who have the capacity and capability to deliver the Medicare UCC services.
