Carterton District Council is inviting tenders for the lease of Matarawa Farm, located at 44 Matarawa Road, Dalefield.

This 85-hectare property plays a key role in the Council’s long-term strategy to dispose of 100% of treated wastewater effluent and sludge on land. While the final strategy is being developed, the Council is offering the land for lease and is seeking an experienced tenant with:

• A proven track record in responsible land management
• A clear and sustainable plan for land use that maintains or enhances its current condition

Key Dates

• RFT Released: 7 August 2025
• Lease Start Date: 3 October 2025
•  Lease Term: 2 years and 9 months, with two rights of renewal for 1 year each

Property Details

• Total area: 85.52 hectares
• Includes: 5-bay implement shed, 8-bay calf shed, and half-round shed
• Offered on an “as is, where is” basis
