Introduction

The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder invites Expressions of Interest (EOI) from not-for-profit organisations seeking to lease and operate the café located within Hammond Park, Lot 3110 Memorial Drive, Kalgoorlie.

This opportunity is ideal for local community-based organisations looking to activate a vibrant, family-oriented setting by providing food and beverage services to residents and visitors.

The City is committed to enabling inclusive and community-led spaces that deliver social, cultural, and recreational benefits to Kalgoorlie-Boulder. The café, situated in one of the City’s most beloved park, plays an essential role in enhancing the experience for park users, supporting both community wellbeing and local tourism.

This EOI process seeks to identify a suitable operator with a strong community focus, operational capability, and a vision that aligns with the values of the park and the City's broader goals for accessible, family-friendly amenities.

Hammond Park is a high-traffic, family-focused public space that serves as one of the most popular recreational destinations in Kalgoorlie-Boulder. Attracting both residents and tourists, the park offers a diverse range of attractions and amenities that support social gatherings, family outings, and nature-based experiences year-round.

Within this vibrant setting, the Hammond Park Café presents a unique leasing opportunity. The café is a standalone, City-owned structure with both indoor and outdoor serving and seating potential. The building includes:

An internal area of approximately 16.04m², suitable for food and beverage preparation and service.

A covered outdoor canopy space of 17.4m², ideal for shaded seating or queuing.

A 7.8m² shaded hexagonal area, providing additional customer shelter or flexible use space.

This café is ideally suited for the provision of coffee, cold drinks, snacks, and light meals, catering to the consistent foot traffic generated by the park’s recreational features.
