Cessnock City Council is seeking a suitably qualified contractor/s to collect and recycle metal waste recieved at the Cessnock Waste Management Centre for a period of two (2) years, commencing on 1 October 2025. A panel of suppliers will be selected as this is a panel contract.
For the purpose quote, metal waste includes all ferrous and non-ferrous metal items, excluding electronic waste. Electronic waste is currently managed by Council under a separate contract.
The aim of the contract is to establish a panel of suitably qualified contractors to provide efficient, reliable and sustainable management of metal waste received at the Cessnock Waste Management Centre (CWMC).This service is essential to support Council’s broader resource recovery goals, enhance operational efficiency, and reduce safety risks associated with on-site stockpiling.
Council receives metal waste from both domestic and commercial sources, with total annual volumes averaging approximately 1,850 tonnes across ferrous and non-ferrous categories.
