The Public Transport Authority (PTA) has various track assets across the rail network and is responsible for maintaining and eventually replacing these assets once they reach their end-of-life limit. These assets are critical to PTA train operations and the delivery of a safe and efficient rail service. 

The PTA requires the Contractor to manufacture and supply both Plain Carbon and Head Hardened:

• AS 41kg rail
• AS 47kg rail
• AS 50kg rail
• AS 60kg rail

DELIVERY

Prior to the shipping and delivery of each order, the Contractor must provide the PTA with the following documentation:

• Quality Assurance Report – Detailing the quality assurance testing that has been completed, including ultrasonic testing, strength testing and straightness testing.
• Delivery Manifest – Provided to the relevant PTA Representative on delivery of the goods.

The delivery of all rail and track assemblies and components by the Contractor shall be included in the Contract Price. The requirements for delivery are outlined below:

• Must be supplied in 27.5 metre lengths, with no “short lengths” unless directly specified by PTA.
• Must be undrilled.
• Must be free from defects.
• Must be delivered at the Contractor’s expense, as directed by the PTA.
• Contractor must provide the PTA with a minimum of two (2) weeks’ notice for delivery.
