The City of Parramatta Council is located 24 kilometres west of the Sydney CBD and provides a range of goods and services within a local government area (LGA) encompassing some 84 square kilometres and comprises a population of approximately 260,296 people from a range of diverse cultures, lifestyles and experiences
ABOUT THE TENDER:
The City of Parramatta (CoP) proposes to construct a new steel truss pedestrian and cyclist bridge over Haslams Creek, adjacent to the existing Bennelong Parkway Bridge in Sydney Olympic Park. The proposed new bridge will provide a 5.0m wide shared path, improving safety and connectivity between Wentworth Point and Sydney Olympic Park.
Council is inviting Tenders from experienced contractors whom have extensive and relevant experience in the delivery of complex community/civil infrastructure projects with specific experience in all aspects of construction of steel truss pedestrian and cyclist shared path bridges to implement the project.
The proposed works include but not limited to:
- Supply and installation of 52 metre single span steel truss bridge with a 5m wide shared path including FRP decking, pedestrian and cyclist friendly expansion joints and integrated handrails.
- Construction of reinforced concrete abutment supported by 1200mm diameter bored piles socked into rock with associated geotechnical works and ground water management and associated earthworks and retaining structures.
- Tie in of the bridge to existing infrastructure including Bennelong Parkway kerb and Parklands Circuit shared path.
- Construction of a raised pedestrian and cyclist crossing.
- Supply and installation of all the lighting and electrical infrastructure, new lighting and distribution board and ASP works.
- Installation of artwork on the facade of the bridge, coordination with Council engaged artists and fabricators.
Tenderers must have ISO Certified Systems for Work Health and Safety, Quality Assurance and Management and Environmental Management to be considered for this tender.
A final decision will be made regarding this Tender in November, with works anticipated to commence in January/February 2026. The Tender price is for a fixed lump sum.
No pre-tender meeting is proposed, however it is recommended that prospective Tenderers visit the project site to confirm 'scope of work', and if questions arise submit these via the forum or to tenders@cityofparramatta.nsw.gov.au
