Tender Description

In the past few years Berri Barmera Council have undertaken repair works and upgrades to its public Swimming Pool ensuring it maintains SA Health regulatory requirements. This included replacement and upgrades of a manually operated filtration system.

Currently, the pools balance tank size is insufficient to allow for full flow of water through the filter system. Increasing flows, causes the current balance tank to overflow. To further improve serviceability and efficiency of the filtration and mitigate the current issues, a secondary balance tank is required. This will allow increased flow through the pools filtration system, ensuring that the entirety of the pools water is being filtered with a turnaround period of under six (6) hrs, as per SA Health requirements.

Council have engaged Newport Consulting Engineers to develop required engineering specifications designs.

As part of the secondary balance tank installation, Council requires that two (2) digital flow meters be installed (pre and post filtration) to better monitor flows throughout the filtration system. These will be installed on 200mm PN9 Class Pipe.

Currently, there is no capability for monitoring the state of the pumps remotely. To rectify this, Council seeks to have a system installed which is able to monitor and send notifications via text of any issues with the pump system while off-site.

Current operation of the filtration system is typically performed during peak hours, increasing power consumption costs. To combat this, Council seeks to incorporate a system to allow the VFDs to run pumps during off-peak hours, bringing power consumption cost down.

It is essential for the agreed works carried out to be completed prior to pool re-opening (first week of October). Council may negotiate to extend pool closure if absolutely necessary to ensure completion of works.

The Council will enter into an Agreement for these Services with the successful Tenderer.
