The Yuendumu community is located 290km north-west of Alice Springs along the Tanami Highway, which branches off the Stuart Highway 25 km north of Alice Springs and is sealed.

The objective of upgrading the lighting system in Yuendumu is to support recreational activities and community events after dark by providing improved facilities with energy-efficient solutions. Enhanced lighting will promote safer and more enjoyable use of the space for sports, gatherings, and social events, thereby fostering greater community engagement and well-being.

The scope includes converting the existing lighting system at the Yuendumu Oval to energy-efficient LED systems with higher lux levels. No changes will be made to the existing poles; therefore, no structural works are involved, and there will be no increase in power demand.
