Supply of Wire Rope for the ongoing maintenance (cable change program) for River Murray ferries.

The Morgan dockyard requires two scheduled wire rope deliveries per year prior to the two planned cable change blocks. The successful supplier will also be required to hold two reels of 350 meters of wire rope permanently in stock as safety stock.

Wire rope lengths are dependent on river crossing location and include the following:

• 22mm 6x7 wire rope x 240m;

• 22mm 6x7 wire rope x 305m;

• 22mm 6x7 wire rope x 350m; and

• 22mm 6x7 wire rope x 430m

The wire rope will be required to meet at a minimum, Australian Standards:

• 1394: Round Steel Wire for Ropes – Product Specification; and

• 3569: Steel Wire Ropes – Product Specification. This is to ensure poor quality imports are not supplied to the Morgan Dockyard under this contract.
