Central Highlands Regional Council seeks to construct a new high strength taxiway and pavement for the RFDS aircraft at Emerald Airport, a project proudly funded by the Queensland Government.

The RFDS secured funding from Queensland Government and Emerald Rotary Club for construction of a new patient transfer facility and hangar to enhance patient care. This has prompted the extension of the current taxiway beyond existing boundaries and rearrangement of aircraft parking bays. The project involves replacing part of the existing low strength pavement with a new high strength pavement as well as construction of a new pavement.
