Tender Description
Whitsunday Regional Council (the Principal) requires a suitably qualified Contractor (Contractor) to construct new water main infrastructure as part of the Cannon Valley Network Reconfiguration Project and as per this Scope of Works (the Works).
The Works include the following two (2) Separable Portions:
a) Separable Portion 1 – Braemar Road
Refer to Appendix A, the Works include:
i. Supply and install ‘Early Works Package’ refer Appendix A – Drawing No. 21101 extents include Control Line MC1A10 CH 0.000 to CH 15.000 to install 150 mm diameter offtake from existing 225AC watermain and 12m of new 200mm diameter HDPE within 356 mm diameter MS Enveloper pipe installed under the rail line.
Note: This ’Early Works Package’ within the rail corridor must be scheduled to occur after the sugar cane crushing season ends 1 January 2026.
ii. Supply and install new watermain, refer to Appendix A – Drawings No. 21101 extents include Control Line MC1A10 CH 15 .000 to CH 172.000 to install 157 m of new 150 mm diameter mPVC watermain to connect from the ‘Early works Package’ to existing 100 mm diameter watermain located at the corner of Braemar Road and Riverview Drive, Mount Julian Qld 4800.
Note: Awarding of Separable Portion 1 is subject to budget approval.
b) Separable Portion 2 – Stanley Drive
Refer to the portion of works titled Project Site A on Appendix B – 21068 Drawing Package.
Works include:
i. Supply and install of a 30 m of new 250mm diameter DICL watermain and associated pit infrastructure to offtake from the existing 500mm diameter bulk supply watermain to the existing 225 mm diameter AC watermain; and then 100 mm diameter watermain located at Corner of Shute Harbour Road and Stanley Drive, Cannon Valley Qld 4800.
The Principal reserves the right to award in part or in full.
A non-mandatory Tender Briefing will commence at Corner Shute Harbour Road and Braemar Road, Mount Julian Qld 4800, Wednesday 6th August 2025 at 10.30am (AEST).
N.B. PPE is a requirement to attend this site, at a minimum Hi-Vis long-sleeved shirt, full length pants and steel cap boots, it is also recommended to wear sun protection.
