Tender Description

The Department of Youth Justice and Victim Support (DYJVS) is seeking qualified and experienced suppliers to deliver a Youth Justice (YJ) Disability Access and Assessment Program. The program will enhance the department’s case management framework by addressing the needs of young people with diagnosed or suspected disabilities.

The successful supplier will conduct diagnostic assessments to identify cognitive, behavioural, and functional needs, with findings reviewed through multi-disciplinary case conferencing. Detailed reports and individualised support plans will guide tailored interventions, while recommendations will assist in translating assessments into meaningful actions. The supplier will also support young people and families in accessing specialist services, such as psychology, occupational therapy, cultural or community supports, and provide referrals to organisations like Aboriginal Community-Controlled Organisations, NDIS, and mental health programs.

The program must deliver culturally safe, trauma-informed, and strengths-based responses, prioritising the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse young people. Flexible, mobile service delivery through in-reach and outreach modes is essential to ensure accessibility and responsiveness.
