Tender Description
The Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (DBCA, the Customer) requires an organisation to provide barge and ancillary services to assist with the turtle monitoring camp mobilisation and demobilisation to Delambre Island.
Mobilisation and Demobilisation
The date and time of collection (mobilisation) and drop off (demobilisation) is to be agreed to between the Customer (DBCA) and the Contractor, allowing sufficient time for both parties to make appropriate arrangements.
The Contractor is required to provide barge and ancillary services including but not limited to:
(a) Mobilisation (mid-November)
(i) Collection of two (2) loaded 10ft sea containers from the DBCA yard in the Karratha Industrial Estate. Please refer to section 2.2 below regarding the contents of the sea containers.
(ii) Road transfer of the sea containers to the barge. Please refer to section 2.3 below regarding the department point of the barge.
(iii) Transfer of the sea containers from the road transfer to the barge.
(iv) Transporting the sea containers by barge to Delambre Island.
(v) Unloading the sea containers onto Delambre Island to a location above the high tide line as instructed by DBCA staff.
It is anticipated that once mobilisation commences the steps outlined above will occur without interruption.
(b) Demobilisation (mid-December)
(i) Loading of the sea containers from Delambre Island on to the barge.
(ii) Transporting sea containers by barge from Delambre Island.
(iii) Transfer of the sea containers from the barge to the road transfer.
(iv) Road transfer of the sea containers from the barge. Please refer to section 2.3 below regarding the return point of the barge.
(v) Drop off sea containers back to the DBCA yard in the Karratha Industrial Estate.
Departure and Return Point
The barge is to be located at a designated mainland port which is to be agreed to between the Customer (DBCA) and the Contractor based on availability, tides, weather and other factors. The acceptable agreed ports are Point Samson, and Dampier, but DBCA can be flexible with this if required as the sea containers are located in Karratha.
