Tieri to Capella Pipeline Replacement Construction of Section 2 & 3a

⁠⁠⁠Council is seeking a suitably qualified Contractor to re-construct sections 2 and 3a (approximately 9 km) of the Tieri to Capella Pipeline in Central Queensland (CQ) including all associated works. The pipeline is an HDPE pipe of 160mm diameter.

The pipeline is approximately 35 km long and was constructed in 2003. The pipeline is in very poor condition and is prone to a high frequency of failures. Due to the frequency of these failures (i.e., breakage every 4 – 6 hours), the pipeline is not currently operable which adversely impacts the reliability of the Capella Water Supply. CHRC also faces significant costs associated with water loss and repairs due to these failures and as a result do not intend on operating the pipe again in its current condition.
