⁠⁠⁠ABOUT CAMPBELLTOWN

The Campbelltown Local Government Area (LGA) is located within the Macarthur Region of Sydney, which includes the local government areas of Camden and Wollondilly. Glenfield, in the northern part of the LGA being approx. 40km by road and 45mins by direct rail from the Sydney Central Business District, with the Campbelltown CBD being approx. 55km by road and 1hr by rail.

The Campbelltown LGA is bounded by the Liverpool LGA to its north, the Sutherland LGA to its east, the Wollondilly LGA to its south, and the Camden LGA to its west.

The Campbelltown LGA comprises 31,200 hectares (312 km2) of land including 1,189 hectares (119 km2) of protected national park.

As the Metropolitan City Centre of the Macarthur Region, we have a major role to play in what is the fastest growing area of Australia.

The Campbelltown LGA is where the City meets the Bush. On Dharawal land, the natural landscape and setting of the city are some of its greatest assets and represent the foundation of the city's structure and places.

The Campbelltown LGA is known as the land between two rivers - the Nepean and Georges and is also where the Cumberland Plain in the west meets the Coastal Plateau in the east.

The result is a distinctive natural setting of a city in a valley that characterises the place to this day.

We are a diverse community of approx. 190,000 people and growing. The population is expected to grow to almost 250,000 by 2036.

Rich in experience and culture, we come from a wide range of backgrounds. Today, over 30% of our residents were born overseas and more than 60% of people living in the Campbelltown LGA have parents who were born overseas.

The Campbelltown LGA is poised to lead the next decade of growth in the Macarthur Region as it cements itself as a regional hub and cultural heartland. Along with significant population growth and housing development, infrastructure projects and further investment will shape the expansion of our city.

The principal service centre of Campbelltown City Council (Council) is located at the Civic Centre in Queen Street, Campbelltown.

SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS

Council is seeking to engage an experienced and motivated Lead Design Consultant Team to lead the development of the Leumeah Precinct Concept Masterplan. The successful team will need to demonstrate expertise across all relevant areas and may comprise of one firm, or a team created through partnership with other suitably qualified firms and individuals (with both local and/or international expertise).
