This Request for Proposal (RFP) is an invitation to suitably qualified suppliers to submit a Proposal to repair the Rakaia Salmon sculpture.

The fiberglass body of the salmon has been exposed to weather damage. The presence of algal growth can be found in various parts of the sculpture.

Paints have degraded due to prolonged exposure to ultraviolet rays which caused fading, chalking, cracking and flaking.

There appears to be some fiberglass missing thereby potentially exposing the underlaying polyurethane foam.

Overall, the sculpture needs a facelift to prolong the sculpture's lifespan.
