A supplier with experience and demonstrated knowledge in the design and manufacture of dangerous goods vehicles in NSW and familiar with NSW EPA’s expectations of tanker design approval applications
Project goals
The NSW EPA is the competent authority with sole responsibility for the approval of tanker design for the transport of Dangerous Goods in NSW, in accordance with Clauses 46 – 52 of the Dangerous Goods (Road and Rail Transport) Regulation, 2022.
The NSW EPA is seeking assistance from a third party with appropriate background to assist with the technical assessment of tanker approvals.
Scope
Supplier will be required to undertake the following
1. Provide assistance to the NSW EPA in the area of Dangerous Goods until 2028
2. The principal tasks will be the provision of services for the assessment of tanker approvals against the relevant standards via the use of approved checklists available on the NSW EPA website.
The tasks will include:
a) Review of all documentation such as checklists, completed application form and any supporting design documentation.
b) Work with a designated EPA officer for each tanker approval.
c) In the event of missing or incorrect information submitted with the application, discuss this with the designated EPA officer. The designated EPA officer will communicate with the applicant regarding the missing or incorrect information.
d) Once an application is completed satisfactorily, prepare appropriate documentation for the designated EPA officer to provide to approving Director.
