Tender Description

THE OPPORTUNITY

Icon Water is seeking responses from suitably qualified organisations who have the capability, capacity, and proven experience to enter into an agreement to provide one, some or all the requested categories of goods and services outlined within this

Request for Proposal (RFP).

The Supplier(s) will be required to provide a Metering Solution that delivers the capabilities set out below.

1. Remote Meter Reading: The ability to obtain meter readings for meters located inside buildings in new Class A unit developments, for billing and customer service purposes.

2. Performance monitoring and alerts: The ability to monitor meter performance, detect alarm conditions, and generate reports for operational and management purposes.

3. System Integration: Interface to support meter updates, replacements, readings, and alarm conditions to Icon Water systems, such as Customer Management Platform (CMP) as well as Icon Water’s Billing system. .

4. Professional Services: To support the project delivery for the Metering Solution.

Class A metering of individual units requires that meters be installed inside the buildings except some 2-3 storey buildings. Increasing security arrangements at unit complexes are making access to buildings more challenging. To minimise the need for ongoing access to private buildings, the meters and metering systems must meet the criteria set out below.

1. Meters must be installed by on-site plumbers during construction activities, following existing processes.

2. Meters must be capable of being read remotely from outside the buildings using radio technology.

3. The Metering Solution should eliminate the need for any metering-related equipment inside buildings beyond the meters themselves, unless such equipment does not require access to the building for regular maintenance and/or is clearly justified as a technical response to specific operational or site requirements
