Summary

GRDC and Agriculture Victoria Research are co-owners of the national field pea breeding program, previously operating under the Pulse Breeding Australia banner.

GRDC, on behalf of itself and Agriculture Victoria Research, is requesting expressions of interest (EOI) from commercial breeding companies, or consortia led by commercial breeding companies, to continue their breeding program for field pea under license from GRDC and Agriculture Victoria Research.

Registration - Interested parties are requested to Register their interest to receive the EOI Information Pack (as described in the Registration Form) and Response Form.

Additional Conditions for Participation

The Respondent must be a commercial breeding company that specialises in the development, production, and commercialisation of new and improved field crop varieties to meet the needs of farmers, processors, and markets.

The Respondent must operate on a for-profit basis and must be investing in research and development to create varieties with desirable traits such as higher yield, disease resistance, pest tolerance, stress adaptation (e.g., drought, heat, salinity), and quality attributes (e.g., grain quality, oil content), that meet current and emerging market requirements.

In the case of a consortium, the consortium must nominate a commercial breeding company as the Respondent which will lead the consortium.

Lodgement of Response

Enquiries in relation to this EOI must be submitted to the email address of the Document Contact and Enquiries by the Deadline for Submission of Respondent Enquiries to be accepted.

Responses must be submitted to the email address of the Document Contact and Enquiries by the Closing Time to be accepted.

Subject to this EOI, Responses lodged after the Closing Time or that do not provide all the information requested may be excluded from further consideration.
