Economic Analysis of Western Australia’s Biomass Feedstocks, Supply Chains and Conversion Pathways
Tender ID: 589302
Tender Details
Tender Description
The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) seeks the services of a suitably qualified and experienced technical consultant to comprehensively assess Western Australia’s (WA) biomass feedstocks, supply chains and conversion pathways, and the opportunities and barriers to the production of this feedstock.
The Report will provide a techno-economic assessment of WA’s biomass feedstocks and will consider the impact of domestic and international policies and markets on supply and demand for feedstocks, biofuels and associated by-products and make recommendations to the State Government.
A comprehensive understanding of the opportunities and challenges associated with commercialising current and potential feedstocks is critical to realising WA’s potential as a leader in biofuel production. Quantifying the economic benefits will support government and private investment.
The findings and economic analysis of this Report will inform the recommendations of the WA Advanced Biofuel Strategy (Request No. DPIRD2025155) which will identify policy settings, regulatory mechanisms, financial and other incentives, and the resources required (land, infrastructure) to build the industry in the short to medium term.
