Design and Construct Box Culvert on Neible Siding Road at Oakey Creek

The Neible Siding Road Causeway on Oakey Creek provides access to properties located at the northern end of Neible Siding Road. Vehicle access across the causeway is obstructed for approximately 90% of the year due to a permanent water pond and accumulated sediment on the structure. Additionally, water flow in Oakey Creek at the causeway is restricted by sediment build-up downstream. As a result, access is generally limited to four-wheel drive vehicles and farm tractors.

The purpose of the project is to replace the causeway at Neible Siding Road causeway with a box culvert that provides access to light vehicles during average weather seasons.

The scope of work for this project includes the following:

•  Preparation of QA management plans as listed in the Preliminaries.
•  Structural design of box culvert base slab, wingwalls, apron, and pavement slab according to the geometric design supplied by the council.
•  Site set out.
•  Establishment and maintenance of soil and water management control measures.
•  Construction of a one-lane sidetrack for diversion of traffic.
•  Maintenance of the sidetrack for the duration of construction.
•  Foundation preparation for a single box culvert
•  Supply, deliver, and install precast culvert boxes
•  Construct a concrete apron and headwall
•  Construct concrete pavement incorporating castellated kerbing
•  Supply and installation of rock protection
•  Traffic management
•  Removal and disposal off off-site waste concrete and excess soil.

Works in Oakey Creek must be undertaken in compliance with Fisheries Permit Conditions
