Burdekin Shire Council is inviting local community groups, not-for-profit organisations and sporting clubs to apply for funding under Round 1 of the 2025/26 Community Grants Program, with applications now officially open.

The program offers financial and in-kind support for eligible initiatives that benefit the Burdekin community.

Funding is available for a range of projects, including the development of new or existing programs or activities within the Burdekin Shire, local festivals or events that offer broad community benefit, and projects or events that foster civic pride and enhance social and local economic activity.

“Our community groups do so much with limited resources, and the Community Grants Program is Council’s way of supporting their passion, commitment and ideas,” Mayor Dalle Cort said.

“In the past the grants program has previously supported a wide range of initiatives, with recipients including the Burdekin Race Club Inc, Home Hill Harvest Festival and the Burdekin Water Festival.”

Applications close Monday 14 July 2025, and successful recipients will be notified by September.

Interested organisations are encouraged to review the guidelines and submit an application online via Council’s website at www.burdekin.qld.gov.au.
