Cessnock City Council (CCC) is nearing completion of the detailed design phase for the upgrade of approximately a 1km section of Wollombi Road to improve safety and ease traffic congestion. This 1km section is referred to as Stage 2 and is part of the larger 4.0km upgrade of Wollombi Road.

The Stage 2 upgrade will increase the travel lanes capacity between West Ave and Allandale Road in Cessnock, to provide two lanes each way and as well as associated intersection improvements. The upgrade will also include new and upgraded footpaths, kerbs, and bus stops.

This Expression of Interest (EOI) is being used to establish registers of suitable contractors for the construction of Stage 2 of the Wollombi Road Upgrade project. Applicants are invited to make an initial submission on the EOI documentation, and successful respondents can then be invited to tender by selective tender.

Any person/company willing to fulfil the requirements of the proposed contract are invited to submit an EOI Application to the Council by the deadline, 2:00pm on Tuesday, 22nd July 2025 by one of the methods detailed in the Conditions of Application

EOI BRIEFING MEETING

A compulsory briefing meeting will be held on Thursday 10th July 2025 via Microsoft Teams.

The meeting will take place at 3:00pm and is anticipated to take around 60 minutes.

The Microsoft Teams meeting invites will be emailed to all attendees via the email addresses provided. Confirmation of attendance is required by Council by 4pm on Wednesday 9th July 2025. Maximum number of attendees per applicant is three.
