Maranoa Regional Council has received financial support through the Flood Risk Management Program, a jointly funded Australian and Queensland Government funding package managed by Queensland Reconstruction Authority (QRA), to undertake a flood study for the Maranoa Region.

Council requires a flood study that covers a number of study areas within its LGA. This study will consider the full range of flood risk from a disaster management, planning and engineering perspective. The program seeks to achieve consistency in flood risk data capture, modelling and risk assessment, to enhance local understanding and coordinate flood risk management obligations across various functions.
