Tender Description

Project goals

Soil Conservation Service (SCS) manages environmental issues on lands on behalf of Office of Strategic Lands (OSL), including the removal of illegally dumped waste and contaminated materials.

OSL appointed SCS to develop a Vegetation Management Plan (VMP) for the management of remnant bushland, natural areas and parkland in Lots 1 and 2 DP 1255572, Penrith Wildlife Lake, Castlereagh. The study area is comprised of terrestrial, riparian and aquatic ecosystems with variable vegetation integrity. The VMP was designed to guide the protection and maintenance of native vegetation and habitat within the site, incorporating previous (12 months) land management activities along with additional management and restoration goals. SCS have been engaged to manage the works of the Vegetation Management Plan.

SCS are looking to engage a Bush Regeneration specialist to conduct the first year of works prescribed by the VMP. Works will be monitored against the KPIs detailed within the VMP and discussed with the Project Manager on a monthly basis. Bi-annual monitoring reports will also be conducted by SCS.
